Scope

GB/T 5482-2023 is the English-translated version of 金属材料 动态撕裂试验方法.

GB/T 5482-2023 is the Chinese national dynamic tear test method for metallic materials.

It specifies the specimens and their preparation, the testing machine, the test procedure, the calculation of the shear section ratio, the processing of results and the test report, and defines the shear section ratio as the fibrous fracture area as a percentage of the original cross-section at the notch.

Its contents list adds appendices on sampling welded joint specimens, on specimens 25 mm thick or more, and on pressing and measuring the notch. Clause 1 makes it suitable for measuring the dynamic tear energy and shear section ratio of metallic materials or welded joint specimens with a Rockwell hardness value less than 36 HRC.

It replaces GB/T 5482-2007, was issued on 6 August 2023 and has applied since 1 March 2024.

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 5482-2007 "Dynamic Tear Test Method for Metallic Materials". Compared with GB/T 5482-2007, except for the structure In addition to adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Change the term "fiber section ratio" to "shear section ratio" (see 3.4, 2007 version of 3.4);

b) Added processing accuracy requirements for specimens using end positioning tests (see 4.2.1);

c) The regulations on the reading resolution of testing machines have been changed, and the reading resolution of testing machines with a maximum impact energy value of 3000J and above has been added. Regulations (see Table 3, Table 2 of the 2007 edition);

d) The test process has been changed and improved (see 6.1, 6.2, 6.1, 6.3 of the 2007 edition);

e) Delete the requirements for temperature measurement instruments (see 6.2 of the 2007 edition);

f) The requirement for the number of specimens is deleted (see 6.6 of the 2007 edition);

g) Added a computer-aided method for measuring shear section ratio (see 7.1.2).

1 Scope

This document specifies the specimens for dynamic tear testing of metallic materials and their preparation, testing machines, testing procedures, calculation of shear section ratio, and testing Results processing and test reporting.

This document is suitable for measuring the dynamic tearing energy and shear fracture of metallic materials or welded joint samples with a Rockwell hardness value less than 36HRC. face rate.

2 Normative reference documents

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Dynamic tear test

On the impact testing machine, the dynamic tearing specimen in the state of a simply supported beam is punched once, and its energy absorption and shear section ratio are measured. test.

3.2 Dynamic tear energy

The energy absorbed by the sample during the dynamic tear test is used to characterize the ability of a metal material of a specific thickness to resist dynamic tearing.

3.3 fracture surface

The fracture surface of the dynamic tear specimen after punching.

Note. Macroscopically, the fracture surface of the sample generally has a crystalline, fibrous (including shear lip) or mixed morphology.

3.4 shear section ratio

The percentage of the ratio of the fibrous fracture area to the original cross-sectional area at the notch of the specimen.

4 Samples and their preparation

4.1 Sampling

4.1.1 The cutting position and direction of the sample blank should comply with the requirements for impact specimens in GB/T 2975 or relevant product technical requirements and specifications.
