Scope

GB/T 5246-2023 is the English-translated version of 电解铜粉.

GB/T 5246-2023 is the Chinese national product standard for electrolytic copper powder produced by electrolysis of copper sulfate solution.

It sets the eight grades - FTD180, FTD75, FTD75d, FTD48, FTD48d, FTD38, FTD18 and FTD10 - in which the figure is the powder particle size in µm and the letter d marks a powder of low bulk density, plus the product marking.

Its foreword assigns chemical composition, particle size distribution, bulk density and appearance quality to clause 5, the measurement methods to clause 6, inspection and batching rules to clause 7, and marking, packaging, transport and storage to clause 8.

Clause 1 names powder metallurgy parts, diamond products, electric carbon products, electrical alloys, electronic materials, friction materials and chemical catalysts as the main uses.

It replaces GB/T 5246-2007, was issued on 6 August 2023 and has applied since 1 March 2024.

Foreword

This document complies with the regulations of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Custom drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 5246-2007 "Electrolytic Copper Powder". Compared with GB/T 5246-2007, except for structural adjustments and editorial changes In addition, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Changed the expression method of brand names, "FTD1, FTD2, FTD3, FTD4, FTD5" were changed to "FTD75, FTD48, FTD75d, FTD180, FTD48d", adding three grades of FTD38, FTD18 and FTD10 (see 4.1, 2007 edition 3.1);

b) Added product marking (see 4.2);

c) The composition content of electrolytic copper powder has been changed, "ignition residue after nitric acid treatment" has been changed to "nitric acid insoluble matter", As, Sb, Bi, Ni, Sn, Zn, and S are included in the "total of other impurity elements", the Cl-impurity content requirement is deleted, and the "total of other impurity elements" is added.

Footnotes for "sum" and "total impurities" (see 5.1, 3.2 of the 2007 edition);

d) The index values of particle size distribution, mass fraction and bulk density of electrolytic copper powder have been changed, and the table notes on the physical properties of electrolytic copper powder have been deleted. (See 5.2, 3.3 of the 2007 edition);

e) The micromorphology of electrolytic copper powder has been deleted (see 3.4 of the 2007 edition);

f) Change "apparent quality" to "appearance quality" (see 5.3, 3.5 of the 2007 version);

g) Added the method for measuring particle size distribution of FTD18 and FTD10 products, changed the method for measuring oxygen content and moisture, and deleted the words "oxygen content, moisture content or according to the method approved by both supply and demand parties", delete the measurement method of chloride ions, delete the micro Determination method of visual appearance (see Chapter 6, Chapter 4 of the 2007 edition);

h) Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C are deleted (see Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C of the 2007 version);

i) Changes to inspection, acceptance, and batching rules (see 7.1, 7.2, 5.1, 5.2 of the 2007 version);

j) Added provisions for numerical rounding (see 7.5.1);

k) Changes in marking, packaging and transportation rules (see 8.1~8.3, 6.1 of the 2007 edition);

l) The maximum storage temperature of the product has been changed from "not greater than 25°C" to "not greater than 35°C", and "electrolytic copper powder has been shipped from the factory" has been added. "The quality shelf life shall be no less than 6 months from the date" (see 8.4, 6.2 of the 2007 version);

m) Added related content of accompanying files (see 8.5).

4 Classification and tagging

4.1 Product classification

Electrolytic copper powder is divided into FTD180, FTD75, FTD75d, FTD48, FTD48d, FTD38, There are eight grades of FTD18 and FTD10.

Note: In the brand designation, "FTD" is the code name of electrolytic copper powder, and the Arabic numerals represent the powder particle size (such as. 75, which means that more than 90% of the powder particle size is smaller than 75µm). "d" represents powders with the same particle size and low bulk density.

4.2 Product marking

Product markings are expressed in the order of product name, file number, and brand number. Example:

Electrolytic copper powder that conforms to this document has a powder particle size of 75 µm (more than 90% of the powder particle size is less than 75 µm) and is marked as. Electrolytic copper powder GB/T 5246-FTD75
