2 Basic terms
2.1 Atom
A hierarchical structure of matter, the smallest unit to maintain the same chemical properties. Usually it consists of a nucleus and electrons around it, whose
The number of electrons equals the number of protons in the nucleus.
2.2 Nuclear atomicnucleus
The positively charged atomic core, usually consisting of protons and neutrons. Mass of the atom is almost confined to this.
2.3 Atomic mass
The rest mass of a neutral atom in the ground state.
2.4 Atomic mass unit u
12C a neutral atom in the ground state of the rest mass of 1/12.1u = 1.66053873 × 10-27kg.
2.5 Atomic mass constant
m0
A 12C 1/12 the amount of atomic mass of the name, the unit of atomic mass unit u.
2.6 Atomic atomicmass
The average atomic mass of the element and isotope 12C than 1/12 of the atomic mass, also known as relative atomic mass.
2.7 Atomic
Number of atoms in the periodic table, equal to the number of protons in the nucleus.
2.8 Mass massnumber
The number of nucleons in nuclei.
2.9 Nuclear radius
Generally are the following meaning.
a) Characterization of nuclear charge radius distribution;
b) characterization of the core radius of the nuclear sub-distribution;
