Electromagnetic compatibility is a routine concern for any machine that carries electronics, and this document addresses it for agricultural and forestry machinery. Part 1 covers the general EMC requirements for such machines, giving manufacturers a common basis for showing that their equipment neither disturbs nor is disturbed by its electromagnetic surroundings in the field or the forest.
It is aimed at designers and manufacturers of tractors, harvesters, forestry equipment and related machines, as well as the test laboratories and certification bodies that assess them. Component suppliers who deliver electronic assemblies for these machines will also need to understand its framework.
The standard is a recommended national standard rather than a mandatory one. It was issued on 28 August 2026 and applies from 1 March 2027. It replaces GB/T 21398-2008, so organisations that currently work to the 2008 document will need to move to this edition when they plan EMC testing and technical files for products placed on the Chinese market. A separate Part 2 deals with additional requirements connected to functional safety.

Foreword
GB/T 48050.1-2026 is a recommended national standard (GB/T) of the People's Republic of China, issued on 28 August 2026 by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China, with effect from 1 March 2027.
This edition replaces GB/T 21398-2008.
It is under the responsibility of the China Machinery Industry Federation.
