Scope
GB/T 47730-2026 is the English-translated version of 运动冰场制冰机使用要求及检验方法.
GB/T 47730-2026 covers the use and testing of ice machines at ice rinks. It defines terms, classifies the machines, sets usage requirements, describes test methods, and gives guidance on selection and operation.
Two types are included, direct-cooling and indirect-cooling ice machines. Appendices set out measurement points for average ice surface temperature and a calculation of the cooling load per unit area of rink.
It applies to ice machines at sports ice rinks with an ice surface area of not less than 600 m2, and machines in similar uses may follow it for use and testing.
Its normative references include the GB/T 2423 environmental test parts and JB/T 7222. Issued on 2 July 2026 and applicable from 1 February 2027, it is a new standard and replaces no earlier edition.

The terms and definitions defined in JB/T 7249, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.
3.1 Ice rink
Provide venues for ice activities. [Source: GB/T 19995.3-2006, 3.1]
Ice machine in ice rinks In sports ice rinks, a device that uses an electric motor-driven vapor compression refrigeration cycle to freeze fresh water into ice is used.
Note: Ice makers include direct-cooling ice makers and indirect-cooling ice makers. Direct-cooling ice makers include. a compressor condenser (air-cooled) unit, a tank pump liquid supply unit, and an evaporator.
Coils and control system equipment; indirect cooling ice makers include carbon dioxide units, tank pump liquid supply units, cooling coils, and control system equipment, or Low-temperature brine chiller, pump set, cooling coil and control system equipment.
