Foreword
This document conforms to GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting is scheduled.
This document is modified to adopt ISO/IEC 24741:2024 "Information technology - Overview and applications of biometrics".
This document has undergone the following structural adjustments compared to ISO/IEC 24741:2024.
--Chapter 5 corresponds to Chapter 6 in ISO/IEC 24741:2024;
--Chapter 6 corresponds to Chapter 7 in ISO/IEC 24741:2024;
--Chapter 7 corresponds to Chapter 9 in ISO/IEC 24741:2024;
--Chapter 8 corresponds to Chapter 10 of ISO/IEC 24741:2024;
--Chapter 9 corresponds to Chapter 11 of ISO/IEC 24741:2024;
--Chapter 10 corresponds to Chapter 12 of ISO/IEC 24741:2024;
--Chapter 11 corresponds to sections 13.2 and 13.3 of ISO/IEC 24741:2024.
The technical differences between this document and ISO/IEC 24741:2024, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.
--The descriptions related to "development history" and "application examples" in the scope have been removed, as they mainly introduce the international development of biometric identification technology.
The development process and application cases differ from those in my country (see Chapter 1).
--The standard GB/T 5271.37-2021 has replaced the normative reference ISO/IEC 2382-37, making it more suitable for my country's national conditions and improving the standard.
Applicability (see 3.1, Chapter 4);
--The abbreviations ABC, EU, FBI, ICAO, and MRTD involved in the "History of Development" and "Application Examples" sections of the abbreviations have been removed because they are mainly used in...
The international development history and application cases of biometric identification technology differ from those in my country (see 3.2).
-- Five abbreviations have been added. BioAPI, BSP, ID, Pat, and XML, to facilitate understanding of this document (see 3.2).
--The section on "Development History" has been removed because it primarily describes the international development of biometric identification technology, which is different from the development of biometric identification technology in my country.
The development processes of these technologies differ (see Chapter 5);
--The "Application Examples" section has been removed because it primarily lists application cases of biometric identification technology in different international fields, which is inconsistent with my country's...
The application scenarios for object feature recognition technology vary (see Chapter 8);
--The phrase "standards-setting organizations" has been removed because it primarily outlines international biometric identification standards-setting organizations, which is inconsistent with my country's biometric identification standards.
The organizations that set the standards differ (see 13.1);
--The standard example table in "Biometric Standard Types" (see 11.1) has been modified, retaining only ISO/IEC 24741:2024.
13.2 This involves international standards that have been converted into national standards and includes the addition of corresponding national standards for adoption, as well as domestic biometric identification standards.
National standards independently developed in other fields are needed to better understand and implement this document within my country (see 11.1).
The following editorial changes have been made to this document.
--The informative reference ISO/IEC TR 24722 has been replaced by GB/T 36460;
