4.Variety Origin Muli yak is a dual-purpose (meat and dairy) local yak breed, named after Muli County in Sichuan Province, where it originates. The central production area is located in the Muli Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province. It is also found in small quantities in Zhixian County, Yanyuan, Xide and other places.
5.Physical appearance The coat is predominantly black, with white often found on the face, back, abdomen, limbs, hindquarters, or tail. The animal is large and sturdy, with a well-proportioned structure and harmonious integration of all parts. Good overall condition; well-developed fore and hindquarter muscles. Deep and broad chest, well-sprung ribs, relatively straight back and loin. Short and thick limbs, wide spacing between legs, and strong hooves. Bull has a large head. The forehead is broad, the neck is short and thick, the withers are high and round, and the testes are symmetrical; the cow's head is narrow and long, the neck is thin, and the withers are slightly lower. The udder is well-developed, and the teats are symmetrical. The coat is abundant. Thick, glossy hair; coarse, long hair on the sides and abdomen, and thick, long, bushy tail hair.
