Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document supersedes GB/T 17128.2-1997 "Special Postal Envelopes - International Postal Business Envelopes" and is consistent with GB/T 17128.2-1997. In comparison, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The definition of "international postal official envelope" has been changed (see 3.2, Chapter 3 of the.1997 edition);

b) Added the terms and definitions for "wall erection" and "tongue sealing" (see 3.3, 3.4);

c) The word "variety" has been removed (see

4.1 in the.1997 edition);

d) The codes for the dimensions of international postal official envelopes have been changed (see Table 1,.1997 edition);

e) The requirement for "wall thickness" has been added (see Table 1);

f) The requirements for paper and its technical specifications have been changed (see 5.2,.1997 edition 5.2);

g) Added requirements for paper packaging recycling labels (see 5.3.1.6);

h) Added limits for "heavy metals and specific substances" (see 5.5);

i) The wording of the "Inspection Rules" has been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 7 of the.1997 edition);

j) The map of international postal official envelope locations has been revised (see Appendix A, Chapter 5,.1997 edition). The following editorial changes have been made to this document.

This document specifies the dimensions, design, paper, printing, pasting, and limits on heavy metals and specific substances for international postal official envelopes. The test rules, packaging, labeling, transportation and storage requirements are described, along with the corresponding test methods. This document applies to the production and inspection of international postal official envelopes.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 envelopes Packaging materials made from paper as raw material, processed through die-cutting, printing and gluing, which can be used to carry letters during delivery. [Source: GB/T 1416-2021, 3.1]
