Scope
GB/T 47033-2026 is the English-translated version of 电源切换设备(SSE)的特殊要求.
GB/T 47033-2026 — This document specifies the classification, characteristics, markings and product information, and operating standards for power switching devices for household and similar purposes.
Conditions, structure and operation requirements, type testing. This document applies to power switching devices (SSEs) for residential and similar applications.
These devices are primarily used for the local production of energy. And/or storage technologies to achieve energy efficiency (EE) objectives.
The SSE is intended to be installed in a low-voltage production and consumption electrical installation (PEI) to transmit electrical energy. ---Or supply current to devices (direct power supply mode or islanded mode); ---Or transmit to the power grid (reverse transmission mode).
SSE is designed to select and/or combine two power sources in an Energy Management System (EEMS) (e.g., from the grid, local power, storage unit). (Select from the options), SSE can also be used as a backup power source.
Note 1.The "Islanding Switching Device" (SDFI) feature is under consideration because additional requirements may be required. See Figure 4 in GB/T 16895.37-2025.
SSE is part of stationary electrical installations. This document applies to rated voltages not exceeding 440VAC, frequencies of 50Hz, 60Hz, or 50/60Hz, and rated currents not exceeding 125V.
SSEs operating in AC single-phase or multi-phase main circuits with an A rating (40A for unthreaded terminals). They are suitable for applications where the expected short-circuit current does not exceed [missing value].
25000A device. This document does not cover DC operation, which will be considered in a future revision of this document.
According to this document, SSE can perform the following operations. ---Manual (M-SSE), or ---Remote control (R-SSE), or ---Automatic (A-SSE), or ---A combination of the above operating methods, such as manual and remote control operation.
SSE is used to select two power supplies sequentially. This version does not cover SSEs that can operate two (or more) power supplies in parallel; these will be covered in this product.
This will be taken into consideration in future revisions of the standard. SSE can be interlocked and/or synchronized. Note 2.In some countries, under specific grid conditions, such as when grid voltage or frequency fluctuations exceed permissible limits, local power sources are not allowed to synchronize with the grid.
SSE can be either a combined SSE (C-SSE, based on specialized products such as circuit breakers, switches or contactors) or a non-combined SSE (NC-SSE). According to this document, C-SSE is based on the same type of switching unit.
If the SSE does not have electric shock protection and overcurrent protection, then the SSE is installed in accordance with the installation rules for low-voltage electrical installations that provide electric shock protection.
In circuits with overcurrent protection. SSEs are typically trained personnel (as defined in GB/T 2900.73-2025, definition 195-04-02) or skilled technicians (as defined in GB/T 2900.73-).
The installation is based on the 2025 definition 195-04-01, and is intended for general use by ordinary personnel (GB/T 2900.73-2025 definition 195-04-03), and requires no maintenance.
The requirements in this document apply to standard environmental conditions. They apply to pollution degree 2 and overvoltage conditions in accordance with GB/T 16935.1-2023.
SSEs used in Category III environments. According to GB/T 4208, SSEs must have at least an IP20 protection rating. Suitable for harsher environments. SSE equipment in certain environmental conditions may require additional requirements.
By its very nature, SSE does not provide isolation or overcurrent protection. However, isolation and overcurrent protection are covered by relevant product standards.
Protection functions can be provided by combined SSE. This document does not apply to transfer switchgear (TSE) used by technicians as covered by GB/T 14048.11-2024.

Introduction
Proper design and installation considerations can promote the optimization of electrical energy use. Electrical installation techniques provide the necessary services and safety for minimum power consumption.
All levels.
The designers believe this is a general requirement of the design process to determine the optimal use of electrical energy.
As shown in Figure 1, the optimization of electricity use is based on energy efficiency management, which is based on electricity prices, electricity consumption, and real-time adjustments.
Figure 1 Energy Efficiency Management System
See Figure 2 for power switching devices (SSEs) for home and similar uses.
SSE is used for.
---Making energy usage transparent to end users, while also taking into account local power generation or storage;
---Optimize electrical energy from the grid or other local power sources/storage.
Figure 2.Principle of managing two power supplies using a power switching device (SSE).
Note. See Appendix A for examples of SSE usage.
The SSE usage modes include the following.
---Direct power supply mode. Corresponds to normal power supply (powered from the grid). The storage unit can power the device, or it can be powered by the grid or...
Local power supply charging.
---Island mode. The load is supplied by local energy and storage units and is disconnected from the power grid.
---Reverse power supply mode. Supports grid power supply. The storage unit can supply power to the device and/or the grid, or it can be powered by a local power source.
