1 Scope

This document establishes the general principles for creating and configuring the main structure of standard content, and specifies the creation of the main structure and the standard configuration based on the main structure.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 1.1 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 standard

Standardization activities, conducted through consensus and following prescribed procedures, provide rules, guidelines, or characteristics for various activities or their outcomes.

3.2 module

The relatively independent structures and contents in standard (3.1) that can be used together (general) and reused (reused).

Note 1.The relevant concept of "element" mentioned in GB/T 1.1 is a type of module, and in this document, it is referred to as "module" without causing confusion.

Required modules are modules that are present in all standards. Optional modules are modules selected from one or more standards within the standard family (3.5). Required and optional modules are collectively referred to as general modules.

Note 3.The module structure can be decomposed and combined as needed, such as decomposing "Technical Requirements" into modules like "Performance Requirements" and "Safety Requirements"; or, as exemplified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

In its standard writing system, common content in the "Foreword" and "Introduction" elements of the standard is merged into the "Preface" module.
