This document establishes the technical procedures for flower propagation by cuttings, and specifies the selection of nursery sites, pre-planting preparations, and selection of cuttings for both greenhouse and open-field cuttings. The document describes the traceability method for record management, covering stages such as seedling selection, pre-planting treatment, cutting methods, and post-planting management, as well as seedling grading and nursery release requirements. This document applies to the propagation of flower cuttings.

Note. Facility cuttings are used to propagate cuttings of both woody and herbaceous flowering plants, while open-field cuttings are suitable for propagating cuttings of woody flowering plants.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in LY/T 3366 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 scion cutting A part of the plant's vegetative body used for propagation by cuttings.

Note. This includes roots, stems, leaves, buds, scales, etc.

3.2 mother plant stock plant Plants used for taking cuttings.

3.3 bulb cutting propagation The method of direct cutting of bulbous flowers using scales.

3.4 leaf cutting propagation A propagation method that uses leaves as cuttings.

Note. There are two types of cuttings. whole leaf cuttings and single leaf cuttings.
