1 Scope

GB/T 46913-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering infection control in a care home - the surveillance and early recognition of an outbreak, the isolation that is possible in a residential setting, the hand hygiene and environmental cleaning, the vaccination of residents and staff, and the visiting policy during an outbreak. 3 Terms and Definitions

4 Basic Requirements

4.1 Nursing homes should establish an infection prevention and control management team, consisting of the principal person in charge and full-time/part-time infection management personnel.

4.2 Elderly care institutions should, based on their actual circumstances, formulate plans for infection risk zoned prevention and control, environmental sanitation, disinfection and isolation, infection monitoring, service management, and emergency response. Emergency response plans, management of visitors, management of staff, management of protective equipment, and occupational protection systems.

4.3 Elderly care institutions should organize pre-employment and annual health checkups for their staff, and catering staff should hold health certificates to work.

4.4 Organize infection prevention and control training for staff within the time limits specified in the regulations for the management of elderly care institutions, and organize at least one training session per year. Public health emergency drills and training records should be archived.
