1 Scope

GB/T 46668-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering finding Salmonella in a carcass, a swab or a feed sample - the pre-enrichment and selective enrichment, the plating and the confirmation, and the molecular methods offered alongside the culture route, with the sensitivity each achieves. First edition, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In force from 1 May 2026. Issued on 31 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 May 2026.

This document describes methods for detecting Salmonella in livestock, poultry, and their products, as well as in their production environment, including reagents and materials, instruments and equipment. Biosafety requirements, testing procedures, sample collection, isolation and culture, and detection, results and reporting of Salmonella. This document applies to the detection of Salmonella in livestock, poultry products, and their production environment.
