Scope

GB/T 46502-2025 is the English-translated version of 家用空调器用户体验评价规范.

GB/T 46502-2025 sets out how the user experience of a household air conditioner is evaluated, with the technical requirements, the evaluation methods and the scoring method.

It defines the terms the evaluation rests on - user experience, usability, user interface and display interface - taken from GB/T 36608.2-2018, GB/T 18978.11-2023 and ISO 9241-210:2019, and it points to GB/T 32265.1-2015 for design requirements tied to use scenarios and user characteristics.

Two informative annexes give the statistical table of test scores and the scoring sheets for the expert evaluation and for the user experience evaluation. It applies to the user experience evaluation of household air conditioners and can be used as a reference for air conditioners of similar use, but not for window air conditioners. It was issued on 5 October 2025 and has applied since 1 May 2026.

1 Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for user experience evaluation of household air conditioners (hereinafter referred to as "air conditioners") and describes the corresponding evaluation methods. And scoring methods.

This document applies to user experience evaluation of household air conditioners; it can be used as a reference for air conditioners with similar uses.

This document is not applicable to user experience evaluation of window air conditioner products.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 User experience

People's feelings and reactions to using or expecting to use a product, system or service. [Source: GB/T 36608.2-2018, 3.4]

3.2 Usability

Using effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction as indicators, a system, product, or service can be used to achieve specific goals in a specific usage context. The extent to which a specific user uses it.

Note 1."Specific" users, targets, and use cases refer specifically to the combination of specific users, targets, and use cases where availability needs to be considered.

Note 2. The term "usability" is also used as a modifier for design knowledge, skills, activities, and design attributes related to usability, such as usability expertise, usability... 3.3 User Interface

All components (software or hardware) of an interactive system that provide information and control to the user so that the user can use the interactive system. To complete a specific task. [Source: ISO 9241-210:2019, 3.16]

3.4 Display interface

A system that transmits information unidirectionally through visualization consists of hardware and software logic, and its function is limited to transmitting the data generated by the system.

It transforms data, status, or instructions into a visual form that is perceptible to the user, but does not include the ability to directly receive or process user information input.
