Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting.
This document is modified to adopt ISO 16847:2025 "Textiles - Test method for assessing felting appearance of pile fabrics after washing".
This document has undergone the following structural adjustments compared to ISO 16847:2025.
---3.1 corresponds to 3.2 of ISO 16847:2025;
---5.2 corresponds to sections 5.2~5.4 of ISO 16847:2025;
---7.6~7.10 correspond to 7.7~7.11 of ISO 16847:2025.
The technical differences between this document and ISO 16847:2025, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.
---The way the scope is expressed has been changed, and a description of "pile fabrics" has been added (see Chapter 1);
---ISO 105-A03 has been replaced by GB/T 251 (see 5.2); ISO 139 has been replaced by GB/T 6529 (see 7.3);
GB/T 8629 replaced ISO 6330 (see 5.1, 7.1); GB/T 19981 replaced ISO 6330 (see 5.1, 7.1).
---The wording in Chapter 4 has been revised, the content simplified, and it is now more in line with Chinese expression habits (see Chapter 4);
---The requirement of "observation panel surface illuminance greater than 600 lx" has been added to align with relevant Chinese standards (see 5.2);
---The example content has been deleted (see section 5.3 of ISO 16847:2025);
---The phrase "Rating shall be performed in accordance with steps 7.7 to 7.11" has been removed. (See 7.6 of ISO 16847:2025);
---Added the clause "If the sample is not uniformly felted after washing, it should be rated according to the areas with severe felting" for the purpose of standard application (see 7.8);
---Added. "If the difference between a single test result and the median value exceeds half a grade, the grade of each sample should be reported simultaneously. For example, both positive and negative samples..." "The two sides of the sample that need to be rated are evaluated independently", which is consistent with the relevant Chinese standards and facilitates the use of the standard (see Chapter 8).
