1 Scope

GB/T 46295-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering seabuckthorn seed oil as a product - the fatty acid profile that distinguishes the seed oil from the pulp oil, the unsaponifiable matter and the carotenoids and tocopherols it is bought for, the peroxide value, and the adulteration checks. First edition, under the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration. In force from 1 May 2026. Issued on 5 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 May 2026.

This document defines the terminology for sea buckthorn seed oil and specifies the requirements for quality, inspection rules, labeling and packaging, storage, transportation, and sale. The corresponding testing methods are described. This document applies to edible sea buckthorn seed oil.
