Scope
GB/T 46213-2025 is the English-translated version of 废旧粘结钕铁硼磁体再制造技术规范.
GB/T 46213-2025 is the Chinese national specification for turning waste bonded Nd-Fe-B magnets back into usable magnets.
It sets the process flow, the technical requirements and the environmental requirements for recovering magnetic powder from production scrap and from magnets taken out of end of life equipment, and for making recycled bonded magnets from it by compression or injection moulding.
It defines the waste magnet, the recycled magnetic powder obtained by degreasing, the recovery rate and the residual rate of binder left after degreasing.
The materials and their analysis are referred to GB/T 18880, GB/T 20168-2017, GB/T 41967-2022 and XB/T 617, while waste water, sewer discharge, noise and solid waste are referred to GB 8978, GB/T 31962, GB 12348, GB/T 50087 and GB 18599. It was issued on 29 August 2025 and has applied since 1 March 2026.

1 Scope
This document specifies the process flow, technical requirements and environmental requirements for the remanufacturing of waste bonded NdFeB magnets.
This document applies to the process of manufacturing recycled bonded NdFeB magnets from waste bonded NdFeB magnets.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 18880 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 Bonded NdFeB magnet
The product is made of NdFeB magnetic powder and binder as the main raw materials, using compression molding or injection molding processes.
3.2 Waste bonded NdFeB magnet
Scrap and scraps generated during the production and processing of bonded NdFeB magnets, as well as scrap bonded NdFeB magnets removed from waste equipment at the end of their life cycle.
3.3 Recycled NdFeB magnetic powder
NdFeB magnetic powder is made from waste bonded NdFeB magnets as the main raw material and is recycled through a degreasing process.
3.4 Recovery rate
The mass percentage of the total amount of NdFeB permanent magnet material elements contained in recycled NdFeB magnetic powder and waste bonded NdFeB magnets.
3.5 Residual rate of binder
The ratio of the binder content of degreased recycled NdFeB magnetic powder to the binder content in waste bonded NdFeB magnets.
