Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document is equivalent to ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1CB.2019 "Telecommunications and information exchange between information technology systems Specific requirements for local and metropolitan area networks - Part 1CB. Frame duplication and elimination for reliability.
The following minimal editorial changes have been made to this document.
--- To coordinate with the existing standards, the name of the standard is changed to "Telecommunications and information exchange between information technology systems, local area networks and urban areas" Domain Network Specific Requirements for Frame Duplication and Elimination for Reliability";
---Incorporated ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1CB.2019/Amd.1.2023, ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1CB.2019/the amendments to Amd.2.2023 are marked with a vertical double line (|) on the outer margins of the clauses involved.
1 Overview
1.1 Scope
This document specifies the procedures, management objects, and protocols used to provide for the identification and management of redundantly transmitted data packets for bridges and end systems.
Identification and elimination of duplicate and redundant packets. Does not involve creating multiple paths for transmitting copies.
This document is applicable to the research, development and design of time-sensitive network products.
1.2 Basic Principles
Frame Replication and Elimination for Reliability (FRER) is used to increase the probability of a given data frame being delivered.
When FRER is used on a fixed path in a specific topology and when protecting against congestion loss, FRER can greatly reduce the probability of data frame loss due to equipment failure.
1.3 Statechart Conventions
This document uses the C language (ISO/IEC 9899:2011) to record the operation of the conformance system. The description of C functions uses special fixed each C function is given when a given event occurs, such as a description code segment or an accompanying Assume that events occur sequentially rather than simultaneously, and that code routines execute immediately.
1.4 Canonical Model
The operational model given in this document is only the basis for describing the functions of compliant devices.
A device's conformance to this document is deemed to be only for the protocols explicitly given.
1.5 Specification Priority
In the event of any conflict between the various parts of this document, the C functions take precedence over the rest of this document, followed by the normative tables.
The information in the normative text follows, followed by the information in the normative figures. Non-normative tables, figures and text in the appendix, clearly marked.
1.6 Introduction
This document is one of many IEEE 802.1 and other standards applicable to Time Sensitive Networking (TSN). The overall goal of these standards is to Provides extremely low packet loss rate and limited, small, and stable end-to-end delay. TSN supports unicast and multicast packet flow, realizing various high-demand Time-critical applications, including audio and video, industrial processes, and machine and vehicle control, cannot be achieved at the expense of the network's ability to transmit non-time-critical applications.
cost to achieve the goals of TSN.
This document assumes that, at the highest level, there is one sending end-system and one or more receiving end-systems per data flow.
The flow is described by the maximum packet size and the number of packets transmitted per unit time.
The resources required for each hop on the data flow path, including link bandwidth, buffer space and control parameters, to ensure zero congestion loss in data flow transmission.
This path carrying the data flow becomes a reserved path.
