GB/T 45657-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the classroom treated as a room that has to be seen and heard in — the daylight and the artificial lighting with its luminaires, installation and maintenance, the display system and the visual health limits that apply to eyes looking at a screen all day, the permitted sound level for hearing safety, the noise control and the reverberation, and the sound reinforcement judged on speech intelligibility and echo cancellation. First edition, in force from 1 December 2025. Issued on 30 May 2025, it has been in force since 1 December 2025.

1 Scope
This document specifies the visual technical requirements for information-based teaching environments and the auditory technical requirements for information-based teaching environments.
This document is applicable to the selection of audio-visual products, environmental design and system integration for information-based teaching environments in teaching institutions, enterprises, community organizations, etc.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 5700, GB 7000.1 and the following apply to this document.
3.1
A combination of physical space and information space (equipment or system) related to teaching (experiments), scientific research, academic exchanges and other activities.
Note. The form of expression can be one or more independent physical spaces, virtual spaces, or a combination of physical spaces and virtual spaces.
3.2
An indicator parameter for measuring the speech clarity (intelligibility) of a sound reinforcement system.
Note. The speech intelligibility index is rated on a scale of 0 to 1; 1 represents perfect speech transmission and 0 represents completely unclear speech transmission.
3.3
An independent, detachable physical space used for live teaching, non-real-time recording and courseware recording.
3.4
Technology used to eliminate echo and howling during local sound reinforcement and remote interaction.
3.5
Objective parameters for evaluating echo cancellation capabilities in local sound reinforcement and remote interaction.
