Scope

GB/T 45629.1-2025 is the English-translated version of 信息技术 数据中心设备和基础设施 第1部分:通用概念.

GB/T 45629.1-2025 opens the GB/T 45629 series on data centre facilities and infrastructure by settling the common ground: terminology, parameters and reference models covering functional components and the spaces that house them.

It describes the infrastructure a data centre needs as a layered system, then moves through compliance, business risk analysis, an overview of data centre design, the design classification of facilities and infrastructure, the design and implementation process and the design principles, with informative annexes on availability and reliability.

Terms are settled for availability, building access and building security, and for co-hosting and co-location data centres among others. It applies to the design, construction, refitting and operation and maintenance of data centre infrastructure, and is used by operators, designers and auditors.

Identical to ISO/IEC 22237-1:2021, it was issued on 25 April 2025 and applies from 1 November 2025.
