Quantitative Chemical Analysis of Textiles Mixtures of polybenzimidazole fibers and certain other fibers

1 Scope

This document describes the chemical analysis method for the determination of fiber content in a two-component mixture of polybenzimidazole fibers after removal of non-fiber matter. Quantitative method.

This document applies to polybenzimidazole fibers and certain protein fibers (sheep wool, mulberry silk, etc.), regenerated cellulose fibers (Lyocell fibers Fibers such as viscose, polyester, polyamide, and polyvinyl alcohol Fibers such as polyacrylonitrile, certain modified polyacrylonitrile, polyurethane elastic fibers, acetate, triacetate, polylactic acid and certain A two-component mixture of some meta-aromatic polyamide fibers.

Note. Appendix A gives the test method for identification of meta-aromatic polyamide fibers, para-aromatic polyamide fibers and polybenzimidazole fibers.
