Scope

GB/T 45196-2025 is the English-translated version of 农产品产地环境质量调查技术指南.

GB/T 45196-2025 gives the Chinese technical guidelines for surveying the environmental quality of agricultural production areas. The programme behind it is one of the largest environmental exercises China has undertaken: after the national soil survey found significant areas of farmland contaminated with cadmium and other metals, production areas have to be surveyed and classified so that land can be designated for unrestricted production, for restricted production or for withdrawal from food cropping. The standard sets the survey objectives and scope, the preparation and the collection of existing data, the design of the sampling, the grid and its density and the siting of points, the sampling of soil, irrigation water, air and the crop itself, the handling and analysis of the samples and the parameters determined, the quality assurance and quality control, the evaluation of the results against the risk screening and control values, and the classification, mapping and reporting. It takes effect on 1 May 2025.

This document provides guidance and suggestions on the environmental quality survey procedures for agricultural product production areas, and gives information on data collection and field surveys, survey units, Division, point layout, sample collection, sample analysis and testing, survey result analysis, survey results compilation, data management and other related information. This document is applicable to the environmental quality survey of agricultural product production areas in the planting industry.
