Scope

GB/T 45190-2025 is the English-translated version of 道地药材生产技术规程 岷当归.

GB/T 45190-2025 is the Chinese code of practice for producing Min Danggui, the Angelica sinensis root grown in the Min county area of Gansu that is the recognised daodi, or authentic geographical, source of the herb. Daodi is a genuine quality concept rather than a marketing one: the same species grown elsewhere does not accumulate the same constituents, and the traditional medicine trade prices accordingly, which makes a production standard both an agronomic document and a protection of origin. The standard sets the production technology flow, then the selection of the origin and the site conditions of soil, altitude and climate that define it, the seed and seedling production including the raising of transplants at altitude that this crop requires, the field preparation and planting, the fertilisation and water management, the control of pests, diseases and of premature bolting, which is the crop's characteristic loss, the harvesting time and method, and the processing, drying, grading, packaging and storage, together with the records that support the origin claim. It takes effect on 1 August 2025.
