1 Scope
This document describes a method for the determination of residual amounts of volatile methylcyclosiloxanes in leather and fur products.
This document applies to octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D 4), decamethylcyclopentasiloxane in various types of leather, fur and their products Determination of residual amounts of (D5) and dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane (D6).

4 Principle
The residual volatile methylcyclosiloxane in the leather or fur is extracted with ethyl acetate, and the extract is purified by filtering through a filter membrane and then Select gas chromatograph (GC/MSD) with detector for determination and internal standard method for quantification.
5 Reagents and Materials
5.1 General provisions. Unless otherwise specified, all reagents used were of analytical grade.
5.2 Ethyl acetate, chromatographic grade.
5.3 Methylcyclosiloxane standard substance/standard sample, purity >= 98.0%, chemical information see Table 1.
