Scope
GB/T 45038-2024 is the English-translated version of 禾草综合利用技术导则.
GB/T 45038-2024 gives the technical guidelines for the comprehensive utilisation of grasses. China has very large areas of grassland and of marginal land planted to grass for erosion control, and the same species can be used as forage, as bedding, as biomass fuel, as raw material for paper or board, or as a feedstock for biorefining, with the choice depending on the stand, the season and the market rather than on the plant. The standard sets the general principles, the planning of utilisation, the methods of utilisation themselves, and the evaluation and improvement of what has been done, with an informative annex recommending the utilisation methods appropriate to the common grass species. It takes effect on 1 June 2025.
