GB/T 45029-2024 is the English-translated version of 海洋灾害预警报标示符.

GB/T 45029-2024 is the Chinese national standard covering the symbols that carry a marine hazard warning to the public — the six hazards covered, storm surge, waves, sea ice, tsunami, red tide and green tide, the red, orange, yellow and blue levels and how each hazard is graded, the static images themselves, the visual elements and proportions of the symbol, and the colour codes that keep the same warning the same colour wherever it is reprinted.. First edition, under the Ministry of Natural Resources. In force from 1 April 2025. Issued on 31 December 2024, it has been in force since 1 April 2025.

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification, level colors, static graphic representation, symbol structure and color coding of marine hazard warning symbols.

This document applies to the release and dissemination of marine disaster warning indicators for storm surges, waves, sea ice, tsunamis, red tides and green tides.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 marine disastermarinedisaster

Abnormal or drastic changes in the marine natural environment, resulting in damage to society, economy, environment, life and property at sea or on land Phenomenon or event.

Note. Mainly includes disasters such as storm surges, waves, sea ice, tsunamis, red tides, green tides, coastal erosion, seawater intrusion, soil salinization, and saltwater intrusion.

Provide advance warning of the time, location, intensity, possible losses and impacts of possible marine disasters.

4 Types

The types of marine disaster warning indicators are as follows.

a) Storm surge disaster warning indicator;

b) Ocean wave disaster warning indicator;

c) Sea ice hazard warning indicator;

d) Tsunami hazard warning indicator;

e) Red tide disaster warning indicator;

f) Green tide disaster warning indicator.
