Scope
GB/T 44855-2024 is the English-translated version of 冷却塔节水管理规范.
GB/T 44855-2024 is the Chinese national standard covering a cooling tower run so that it loses as little water as it can — the general principles on construction, performance testing, water sources and treatment chemicals, the control of splashing, drift, leakage and overflow, the maintenance regime, the metering and monitoring of the circuit, the analysis and evaluation of what the readings show, and the calculation of the rated make-up water against which actual consumption is judged. Reclaimed water, rainwater and desalinated seawater come before mains water for make-up. First edition. In force from 1 March 2025. Issued on 28 November 2024, it has been in force since 1 March 2025.

GB/T 7190.1, GB/T 7190.2, GB/T 31329, GB/T 50050, GB/T 50102, GB/T 50392 The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Rated amount of makeup water
The amount of water that should be added to the circulating cooling water system is calculated based on the cooling tower operation monitoring parameters.
4 General
4.1 The cooling tower should be newly constructed or renovated in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 7190.1 and GB/T 7190.2, and the cooling tower performance should be tested after completion or renovation.
Test, if the test results do not meet the requirements, rectification should be carried out.
4.2 Cooling tower water replenishment should preferably use recycled water, regenerated water, rainwater, desalinated seawater and other unconventional water sources. For places with clear water replenishment requirements, except.
4.3 The cooling tower should be inspected on site regularly, and any problems such as splashing water, abnormal water drifting, leakage and overflow should be dealt with and recorded in a timely manner.
4.4 Measuring, monitoring and other instruments should be inspected, calibrated and maintained regularly.
4.5 Water treatment technologies and water treatment chemicals that are highly water-saving, environmentally friendly and safe to use should be selected.
4.6 In order to reduce the consumption of circulating cooling water, indirect cooling towers, dry-wet cooling towers, and condensing mist-eliminating water-saving cooling towers should be used first.
4.7 A sound cooling tower operation management system, water-saving reward system, and inspection and maintenance instructions for cooling tower equipment should be established.
Guide books and other regulations.
