GB/T 44696-2024 is the English-translated version of 剧院服务规范.
GB/T 44696-2024 is the Chinese national standard covering what a public theatre owes the people who work in it and the people who buy a ticket — the stage and performance facilities and the supporting rooms, the viewing and hygiene environment in the house, the staff and their qualifications, the reception of visiting companies and the services to the audience, the safety, fire and emergency management that a full auditorium makes unforgiving, and the evaluation of service quality. First edition, under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In force from 1 February 2025. Issued on 26 October 2024, it has been in force since 1 February 2025.

1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions of theatre services, specifies the general requirements, theatre service facilities, theatre service environment, theatre services Personnel, theatre service content, theatre safety requirements, theatre culture construction and theatre service quality evaluation.
This document applies to the services provided by theaters, and other types of performance venues may use it for reference on a voluntary basis.
Note. In this document, "theater" refers specifically to public theaters, that is, theaters that operate externally through performance management, play production, venue rental, etc.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 36729 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 theater
A performance venue that forms an audience-performance relationship, where the stage and stands are permanent fixed facilities and have basic facilities for audience and performance and a basic stage system.
Note 1.Basic facilities for viewing performances include the stage and stands.
Note 2.The basic stage system includes the stage equipment system and construction equipment system necessary for the performance, such as stage lighting, stage sound, stage machine The system consists of professional equipment such as machinery and stage management, building equipment systems such as power systems, ventilation systems, water supply and drainage systems, HVAC systems, security systems system and fire protection system.
Note 3.Places that are not set up or configured for performances and only have some of the functions of a theater are not theaters, such as auditoriums, lecture halls, and studios.
Note 4.This document does not include new types of performance spaces.
Note 5.Excluding small theaters.
