Scope

GB/T 44658-2024 is the English-translated version of 磷酸酯液压液再生与使用导则.

China's national guide to reclaiming and reusing phosphate ester hydraulic fluid. Phosphate ester is the fire-resistant fluid used in the electro-hydraulic control systems of steam turbines and in other places where a leak of mineral oil onto a hot surface would ignite. Its fire resistance is why it is used, and its chemistry is why it needs particular care: it hydrolyses in the presence of water to produce acidic phosphates, which attack the servo valves the fluid exists to operate and which catalyse further hydrolysis, so degradation accelerates once it begins. Reclamation therefore centres on keeping the acid number and the water content down - by vacuum dehydration, by ion exchange or adsorbent treatment to remove the acids, and by filtration. Since a turbine's control fluid charge is expensive and its failure means a trip, the guide is about maintaining the fluid rather than replacing it.

Guidelines for the regeneration and use of phosphate ester hydraulic fluids

1 Scope

This document specifies the requirements for degradation classification, purification and regeneration, reuse after treatment, and scrap disposal of phosphate ester hydraulic fluids. This document applies to the purification, regeneration and reuse of phosphate ester hydraulic fluid used in steam turbine electro-hydraulic speed control system and lubrication system. Other equipment The phosphate ester hydraulic fluid used is implemented as per the reference.
