1 Scope

GB/T 44463-2024 sets the overall technical requirements for internet data centres in China. Data centres are the subject of unusually direct state attention there: the national computing network programme moves capacity to where the power is, the energy efficiency limits are set centrally and enforced through project approval, and a centre that cannot show its PUE and its utilisation does not get built. This standard is the document those expectations are written into. It sets the general and basic requirements for the infrastructure and for the IT equipment, and then the requirements under four headings, high technology, high energy efficiency, high security and high computing power, each addressed for the infrastructure and for the equipment, with a normative annex giving the key indicator requirements for the equipment and components. For an operator, a designer, an equipment supplier or an authority assessing a data centre project in China, this is the reference the assessment works from.
