Scope
GB/T 43434-2023 is the English-translated version of 激光修复区域抗裂性试验方法.
GB/T 43434-2023 describes a test for finding out whether a laser-repaired area will crack.
The specimen itself supplies the restraint, so no external load is applied: the standard covers the symbols, the principle, the specimen size and preparation, the preparation of the laser cladding layer, the test steps and data processing by visual inspection and metallographic examination, and the test report, and it defines the laser repaired area, cold cracks, crack resistance, the crack resistance test and the crack rate as the ratio of crack length to cladding length in a given plane and direction.
Clause 1 applies it to assessing cold cracking in laser repair areas and to assessing laser repair materials and repair processes. It quotes GB/T 2654, GB/T 26955 and GB/T 29795. Issued on 27 November 2023, it has applied since 1 June 2024.

Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
1 Scope
This document describes a method for testing the crack resistance of laser repair areas.
This document is applicable to the crack resistance assessment of cold cracks in laser repair areas and the crack resistance assessment of laser repair materials and repair processes.
2 Normative reference documents

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 3375, GB/T 29795 and GB/T 32260.1 apply to this document.
3.1 Laser repair area
Laser repairs damaged parts, the surface coating forming a metallurgical bond with the base material, and the area formed by the heat-affected zone formed on the base material.
3.2 Cold cracks
Laser repairs cracks that occur when the cladding layer structure in the area cools to a lower temperature.
3.3 Crack resistance
The ability of laser cladding materials and substrates to resist cold cracks in the laser repaired area under a specific laser repair process.
3.4 Crack resistance tests
When using laser repair, the rigidity of the specimen itself causes restraint stress in the laser cladding layer and heat-affected zone, without the need to apply additional loads. load to achieve the test to evaluate the crack resistance of the laser repair area.
3.5 Crack rate
The ratio of the crack length to the cladding layer length in the specific plane and direction of the laser repair area.
