Scope

GB/T 43423-2023 is the English-translated version of 空间数据与信息传输系统 深空光通信编码与同步.

GB/T 43423-2023 describes the data link layer coding and synchronization for optical communication between deep space craft and the ground.

It covers the functions of the sublayers, the coding and synchronization of downlink data and of uplink beacons with their optional accompanying transmission frames, and the management parameters for both directions.

Its contents list follows the downlink chain step by step - the attached synchronization marker, the chunker, the pseudo-random generator, the cyclic redundancy check, the SCPPM encoder, the channel interleaver, the slot mapper and guard slot insertion - and then the uplink chain with its LDPC encoder, PN spreader and 2-PPM slot mapper.

Clause 1 states that it applies to high photon efficiency links through atmospheric channels in deep space laser communication, other uses being for reference. Issued on 27 November 2023, it has applied since 1 March 2024.

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

1 Scope

This document describes the coding and synchronization of the data link layer in space-to-Earth optical communications in the context of deep space missions in the field of space data and information transmission.

Functions of the sublayers, encoding and synchronization of downlink data, encoding and synchronization of uplink beacons and optional accompanying data transmission, and management parameters.

This document is applicable to high photon efficiency links in air-to-ground and ground-to-space scenarios transmitted through atmospheric channels in the field of deep space laser communications. Other applications are used for reference.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 42041-2022 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Code rate

The ratio of the average number of input information symbols to the encoder to the average number of corresponding output symbols.

3.2 Code word

A data sequence that is output after encoding and processed as a whole during decoding. [Source: GB/T 42041-2022,3.3.13]

3.3 Convolution code

There is a certain relationship between the redundant code elements (check elements) added to the information code sequence and the current information code elements and the previous information code elements. An error correction code based on a functional relationship. [Source: GB/T 42041-2022,3.3.16]
