Scope
GB/T 43419.2-2023 is the English-translated version of 稻田重金属治理 第2部分:钝化调理.
GB/T 43419.2-2023 is the part of the Chinese national paddy-field series that deals with immobilising heavy metals in the soil.
It covers the choice of immobilising conditioner, its application, the factors that affect it and the prevention of secondary environmental risk, with a clause each for cadmium, mercury, arsenic, lead, chromium and combined contamination.
The conditioners it lists include calcium-based materials such as lime, limestone, gypsum and dolomite, silicon-based ones such as metasilicate and diatomite, and iron-based ones such as zero-valent iron, iron oxide minerals and iron salts, alongside the chemical and microbial immobilisation it defines.
It applies to paddy soil contaminated by one or more of those five metals, and not to dry farmland or radioactive contamination. Issued on 27 November 2023, it has applied since 1 March 2024.

Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
This document is Part 2 of GB/T 43419 "Heavy Metal Control in Rice Fields". GB/T 43419 has published the following parts.
---Part 1. General provisions;
---Part 2. Passivation conditioning;
---Part 3. Physiological barrier.
Introduction
GB/T 43419 "Heavy Metal Control in Rice Fields" is a technical standard to guide the control of heavy metals in rice fields. It aims to guide the management of heavy metals in rice fields.
Work process, through selecting appropriate treatment technologies, to achieve safe production in contaminated rice fields. GB/T 43419 is planned to consist of three parts.
---Part 1. General principles. The purpose is to provide general technical guidance for the entire process of heavy metal control in rice fields.
---Part 2. Passivation conditioning. The purpose is to select appropriate soil control methods for single and compound pollution of cadmium, mercury, arsenic, lead and chromium in rice fields. Provide technical guidance on appropriate passivating conditioners.
---Part 3. Physiological barrier. The purpose is to provide technical guidance for selecting appropriate physiological barrier agents for heavy metal control in rice fields.
This document is Part 2 of GB/T 43419, which provides technical guidance for selecting appropriate passivation conditioners for heavy metal control in rice fields, thereby Improve the soil environment, reduce the availability or total amount of heavy metals in the soil, promote the production of agricultural products to meet standards, achieve sustainable use of soil, and provide rice fields with Provide standardized support for the development of heavy metal control and environmental protection industries. Heavy metal control in rice fields Part 2. Passivation Conditioning
1 Scope
This document specifies the selection, implementation, and impact of passivation conditioners for single and compound polluted rice fields with cadmium, mercury, arsenic, lead, and chromium. impact factors, secondary environmental risk prevention, etc.
This document is applicable to the treatment of single or composite contaminated soils contaminated by cadmium, mercury, arsenic, lead, and chromium in rice fields.
This document does not apply to the treatment of dry farming and radioactive heavy metal contaminated rice field soil.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 43419.1 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 chemical passivation
Use single or combined chemical methods such as acid-base neutralization, redox, co-precipitation, and complexation to reduce the effective content of heavy metals in soil Technology.
3.2 Utilize
a certain number of microorganisms with specific functions, or apply functional materials to improve the activity of microorganisms with specific functions, so that heavy metals in the soil are removed.
Electrostatic adsorption on the surface of microbial cells combines with its metabolites to cause precipitation or redox, or is absorbed and enriched by microbial cells.
Technology to reduce its mobility and bioavailability, thereby reducing its accumulation in edible parts of crops.
3.3 passivation conditioner
Substances that can improve the physical, chemical or biological properties of soil and reduce the effective content or toxicity of heavy metals in soil.
4 Passivation conditioner
4.1 Inorganic chemical passivation conditioners, including
a) Calcium-based passivation conditioners, including lime, limestone, gypsum, dolomite and other agricultural calcareous substances;
b) Silicon-based passivation conditioners, including metasilicate, diatomaceous earth, etc:;
c) Iron-based passivation conditioners, including zero-valent iron, iron oxide minerals, iron salts, etc:;
