Scope

GB/T 43418-2023 is the English-translated version of 亚麻纤维组成成分的检测方法.

GB/T 43418-2023 describes how to determine the composition of flax fibre. Clause 1 names the components measured - lipid waxes, pectin, hemicellulose, lignin and cellulose - and clause 4 states that these are extracted or separated by physical or chemical means and then quantified by gravimetric analysis or spectrophotometry.

Clause 5 lists the reagents, all of analytical grade unless otherwise stated and used with grade three water to GB/T 6682: acetone, sulfuric acid, a carbazole-ethanol solution, a hot ammonia solution, two sodium hydroxide solutions, hydrochloric acid at 2 mol/L and ammonium oxalate solution.

Clause 1 states that it applies to testing fibre composition at the flax beating, machine short flax, coarse flax and other processing steps before spinning. Issued on 27 November 2023, it has applied since 1 June 2024.
