3 Terms, definitions and abbreviations
3.1 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 4365-2003 and the following apply to this document.
3.1.1 Attenuation
The amount by which a signal's voltage, current, or power decreases as it travels from one point to another.
3.1.2 Bonding
Obtain the lowest possible impedance (resistance and inductance) between two metal parts.
Note: DC resistance generally does not exceed 10mohm. Use a low current (<=100mA) 4-wire milliohmmeter for measurement.
3.1.3 Coupling path
The structure or medium through which energy is transmitted from a noise source to a disturbed circuit or system.
3.1.4 Crosstalk
Electromagnetic coupling from one circuit to another circuit.
Note: This phenomenon usually occurs between cables or circuit traces.
3.1.5 Harassment source disturbance source
Noise sourcenoisesource A source of electromagnetic interference or damage to other circuits or systems.
Examples. switching power supply, clock circuit (crystal oscillator circuit), high-speed data bus, switching of inductive loads, etc.
3.1.6 Insertion lossinsertionloss;IL
Losses caused by the insertion of switching networks in a transmission line or system.
