3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

deflection

The displacement of the center point of the specimen relative to the line connecting the two fixed ends of the specimen in the normal direction.

The angle between the deformed specimen and the line connecting the two fixed ends of the specimen.

Note. The samples in this document are strip-shaped thin film samples.

4 Testing equipment

4.1 General Provisions

The testing equipment consists of a driver, a load sensor, a displacement sensor, and an alignment mechanism, such as a micro tensile tester and a nanoindenter.

Compared to micro-tensile specimens of similar size, strip-shaped film specimens exhibit strong flexibility and produce greater deflection under relatively small loads.

Therefore, load sensors should have good resolution, and displacement sensors should have a sufficiently large range. Components of the testing equipment.

The detailed information is as follows.

4.2 Driver

All drive devices capable of linear motion can be used for testing, such as piezoelectric actuators, voice coil drivers, and servo motors. However, due to the size of the sample...
