Scope
GB/T 42253-2022 is the English-translated version of 海岛植被覆盖和开发利用情况监测技术规程.
GB/T 42253-2022 is the Chinese code of practice for monitoring island vegetation cover and development by remote sensing. Clause 1 states that it stipulates the monitoring content, the technical methods and the requirements for preparing the results, and that it applies to uninhabited islands, with inhabited islands monitored by reference to it.
Its contents list runs through the monitoring content and workflow, the survey datum, remote sensing image preparation and preprocessing, the steps for extracting base-period, change and end-period information, the extraction error and the field check, then vegetation cover monitoring, development and utilisation monitoring with a cover classification system for the island and surrounding sea, and results preparation as data, tables, thematic maps and reports.
Normative annexes give a record form and a report outline. Issued on 30 December 2022, it has applied since 1 April 2023.
