Scope

GB/T 42225-2022 is the English-translated version of 小麦麸.

GB/T 42225-2022 is the Chinese national standard for wheat bran, which clause 3 defines as the cortex separated from wheat during processing.

Clause 1 states that it specifies the classification, technical requirements, labelling, packaging, transport and storage requirements for wheat bran and describes the inspection methods, and that it applies to both edible and non-edible wheat bran processed from wheat.

The methods it quotes show which quantities are controlled: moisture, ash and protein under the GB 5009 food series, sand content and magnetic metal particles in milled flour, fatty acid value, and the feed-side determinations of crude protein by Kjeldahl, crude fibre, crude ash and moisture.

It also quotes GB 1351 for wheat, GB 10648 for feed labels and GB 13078 for feed hygiene. Issued on 30 December 2022, it has applied since 1 July 2023.

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification, technical requirements, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage requirements of wheat bran, and describes the inspection methods.
