1 Scope

China's national terminology for intermodal freight transport. Intermodal means a consignment travels in one loading unit across more than one mode - road, rail, sea, inland waterway - without the goods themselves being handled at the transfers. The container made it possible and the vocabulary has grown up unevenly around it, in several industries that each had their own words. 3 Basic Terminology
