Foreword

GB/T 4214 "Test method for noise of household and similar electrical

appliances" is divided into 7 parts.

- Part 1.General requirements;

- Part 2.Particular requirements for vacuum cleaners;

- Part 3.Particular requirements for dishwashers;

- Part 4.Particular requirements for washing machines and spin extractors;

- Part 5.Particular requirements for electric shavers;

- Part 6.Particular requirements for electric hair care appliances;

- Part 7.Particular requirements for tumbler dryers.

This Part is Part 7 of GB/T 4214.This Part is used in conjunction with GB/T

4214.1-2017.

The portion where this Part states "Application" indicates that the corresponding

provisions in GB/T 4214.1-2017 apply to this Part. For the portion where this

Part states "Replacement", the provisions in this Part shall prevail. The portion

where this Part states "Addition" means that, in addition to complying with the

corresponding provisions in GB/T 4214.1-2017, the subclauses added in the

provisions of this Part shall also be complied with.

This Part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This Part replaces GB/T 4214.7-2012 "Household and similar electrical

appliances - Test code for determination of airborne acoustical noise - Particular

requirements for tumble dryers". Compared with GB/T 4214.7-2012, in addition

to editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

- Modify the test enclosure as the test enclosure specified in GB/T 4214.1-

2017 (see 6.5.5; 6.5.5 of the 2012 edition);

- ADD instructions that appliances only designed for front loading and

specified by the manufacturer for building under a counter or for placing

under a worktop between cabinets (under-counter types) shall be built-in in

a test enclosure (see 6.5.5).

This Part, using translation method, is identical to IEC 60704-2-6.2012

"Household and similar electrical appliances - Test code for the determination

of airborne acoustical noise - Part 2-6.Particular requirements for tumble

dryers".

China's document which has a consistent correspondence with the international

document normatively referenced in this Part is as follows.

- GB/T 25516-2010 Acoustics - Laboratory measurement procedures for

ducted silencers and air - Terminal units - Insertion loss, flow noise and

total pressure loss (ISO 7235.2003, IDT).

This Part has made the following editorial change.

- In order to unify the name of this series of standards, change the name of

this Part to "Test method for noise of household and similar electrical

appliances - Particular requirements for tumbler dryers".

This Part was proposed by China National Light Industry Council.

This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Standardization Technical

Committees on Household Electric Appliances (SAC/TC 46).
