Scope
GB/T 42075-2022 is the English-translated version of 区域性暴雨过程评估方法.
GB/T 42075-2022 is the Chinese national method for assessing a regional rainstorm event.
It establishes how a regional rainstorm day and a regional rainstorm process are identified, how the comprehensive intensity of the process is calculated and how that intensity is graded, with a normative appendix on calculating the distances between monitoring stations.
Clause 3 defines a rainstorm as rainfall whose cumulative precipitation in 24 hours is 50 mm or more, and notes that the typical spatial scale of a regional rainstorm exceeds 100 km.
Clause 4 requires precipitation data complying with GB/T 35228-2017, a historical record of not less than 30 years, quality control to QX/T 118-2020, and daily totals accumulated 20:00 to 20:00 or 08:00 to 08:00 Beijing time. Issued on 14 October 2022, it has applied since 1 February 2023.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.
1 Scope
This document establishes the determination of regional rainstorm processes and the division of comprehensive intensity levels, and describes the corresponding calculation methods.
This document applies to monitoring, assessment and servicing of regional storm events.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Rainstorm
Rainfall with cumulative precipitation greater than or equal to 50mm in 24 hours.
3.2 Regional rainstorm
Large-scale heavy rainfall induced by mesoscale to large-scale weather systems (3.1).
Note: The spatial scale of typical regional rainstorms is greater than 100km.
3.3 Meteorological observation stations within
a certain range (usually not more than 500km) used to monitor regional weather and climate events.
4 Data requirements
The precipitation observation data should meet the requirements of GB/T 35228-2017, and the daily precipitation observation data should be selected from stations with relatively uniform distribution. uniform and stably obtainable meteorological observation sites, and should.
a) Length of historical data. not less than 30 years;
b) Data quality. meet the requirements of QX/T 118-2020;
c) Daily precipitation. accumulated from 20.00 on the previous day (Beijing time) to 20.00 on the current day or from 08.00 on the current day (Beijing time) to 08.00 on the next day rainfall.
5 Determination of regional rainstorm days
On a certain day, there are more than or equal to 0.8% of the adjacent monitoring stations (the distance between stations is less than or equal to 350km) in the country.
