Scope
GB/T 41885-2022 is the English-translated version of 浮空器分类和分级.
GB/T 41885-2022 is the Chinese national standard that classifies and grades aerostats. It establishes the terms and definitions used for the classification, the framework of principles behind it and the classification and grading themselves.
The vocabulary divides aerostats into balloons, which have no powered propulsion, and airships, which have powered propulsion and directional control; balloons split into free balloons and tethered balloons, made of an envelope, a tether and a mooring device, and airships into manned, unmanned and tropospheric airships.
It is read together with GB/T 36510 on hot air balloons and GB/T 38060 on the terminology of aerostat envelope structures. It applies to the design, production, testing, commissioning and maintenance of aerostats. It was issued on 12 October 2022 and has applied since 12 October 2022.
