Scope
GB/T 41685-2022 is the English-translated version of 小麦安全生产的土壤镉、铅、铬、汞、砷阈值.
GB/T 41685-2022 fixes the soil thresholds for cadmium, lead, chromium, mercury and arsenic that allow wheat to be produced safely, and describes the detection methods that go with them.
It applies to the evaluation and management of soil environmental quality for safe wheat production. A threshold is defined as the maximum limit for those five elements in soil that keeps wheat grain safe to eat, and the thresholds themselves are tabulated for four ranges of soil pH.
The detection methods are taken from the standards it cites, among them GB/T 17141 for lead and cadmium, GB/T 22105.1 and GB/T 22105.2 for total mercury and total arsenic, HJ 491 for chromium and NY/T 1377 for soil pH. Issued on 14 October 2022, it has applied since 1 May 2023.
