Scope

GB/T 41191-2021 is the English-translated version of 沼气工程火焰燃烧器.

GB/T 41191-2021 covers the flares that burn off the biogas a biogas plant cannot otherwise use. It sets the classification and model designation of these flame burners, their technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and packaging, transport and storage, and it adds rules for installing them.

An informative annex gives the fire separation distances between biogas flares or vents and the main surrounding facilities. The definitions cover the ignition device, the flame monitor with its UV sensor and flame transmitter, the turn-down ratio and the burning residence time of the biogas in the combustion chamber.

It applies to the production and installation of flares in biogas projects. It was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 1 July 2022.

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, transportation and storage of flame burners for biogas projects, and installation etc.

This document applies to the production and installation of flame burners for biogas projects.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Biogas Torch

It is a device used to burn the biogas that cannot be used normally in the biogas project.

3.2 Ignition device

It is a device composed of ignition transformer, ignition electrode, permanent light, gas pipeline, valve, flame arrester, gas source, connecting cable and other components.

3.3 Flame monitor

A device used to monitor the combustion of a flame.

Note: Includes UV sensor and flame transmitter.

3.4 Turn-down ratio

Under normal combustion conditions, the ratio of the maximum flow rate and the minimum flow rate of biogas that can be normally burned by the biogas flare.

3.5 Burning residence time

The time that the biogas stays in the combustion chamber.
