GB/T 40942-2021 is the English-translated version of 畜禽饲料安全评价 肉鸡饲养试验技术规程.
GB/T 40942-2021 is the Chinese code of practice for broiler feeding trials run to evaluate the safety of feed ingredients and feed additives. The trial is organised in six stages: design of the test plan, preparation of the diets, implementation of the trial, data collection, statistical analysis and the test report, with archiving of the data.
The plan covers the test animals and their immunization programme, grouping and replicates, treatments, diet formula, trial period, observations and tests; the birds are to be healthy broilers of the same breed or line, age and batch, with the same sex ratio and similar weight.
It refers to GB 13078 for feed hygiene and to NY/T 33, NY/T 388 and NY/T 823 for feeding standards, farm environment and performance measurement. It was issued on 26 November 2021 and has applied since 1 June 2022.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
1 Scope
This document establishes the broiler feeding test procedures in the safety evaluation of livestock and poultry feeds, and stipulates the design of the test plan, the preparation of the diet, and the test Operational guidelines for the stages of implementation, data collection, statistical analysis, test reports and data archiving.
This document is applicable to broiler breeding trials for safety evaluation of feed ingredients and feed additives.

5.1 Test plan design
5.1.1 Test plan composition
