Scope

GB/T 40915-2021 is the English-translated version of X射线荧光光谱法测定钠钙硅玻璃中SiO2、Al2O3、Fe2O3、K2O、Na2O、CaO、MgO含量.

GB/T 40915-2021 is a Chinese national method for measuring the main oxides of soda-lime-silica glass by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. It covers the content of SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, K2O, Na2O, CaO and MgO.

Samples are prepared either by fusion with a flux into a glass bead or by pressing into a tablet, and the fluorescence intensity of each element is compared with a calibration curve drawn from standard samples of known composition, with a drift correction sample used to correct instrument drift.

The standard defines these terms and sets out the principle of the method. It gives glass producers and testing laboratories a single instrumental method for all seven oxides. It was issued on 26 November 2021 and has applied since 1 June 2022.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

1 Scope

This document describes the X-ray fluorescence spectra of SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, K2O, Na2O, CaO, MgO content in soda lime silica glass test methods.

This document is applicable to the determination of SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, K2O, Na2O, CaO, MgO content in soda lime silica glass.

2 Normative references

The content of the following documents constitutes an indispensable clause of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, dated quotations Only the version corresponding to the date is applicable to this document; for undated reference documents, the latest version (including all amendments) is applicable to this document.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Melting method

A sample preparation method in which the sample is mixed with a certain proportion of mixed flux and an appropriate amount of release agent, and melted at a certain temperature to form a glass sample.

3.2 Tabletting method

The sample is prepared with a boric acid edging substrate, or fixed with a plastic ring, etc., and pressed into a sample in a sample press.

3.3 Standard sample

A set of samples with a known composition and content and a certain gradient used to draw the working curve, and the chemical composition and physical properties of the sample to be tested Consistent with other aspects. The composition content of the standard sample can cover the content range of quantitative analysis. [Source: GB/T 30905-2014, 3.4, with modification]

3.4 Drift correction sample

The sample used to correct the X-ray intensity drift of the instrument requires that its elemental analysis line has appropriate intensity and can be stable for a long time. [Source: GB/T 30905-2014, 3.3, with modification]

4 Principle

The sample made by the melting method or the tableting method, through the X-ray tube to generate primary X-rays and irradiate the surface of the sample, resulting in the characteristics After the X-ray is split by the crystal, the detector measures the X-ray fluorescence intensity at the 2theta angle corresponding to the selected characteristic wavelength, according to the calibration curve
