Scope
GB/T 40786.2-2021 is the English-translated version of 信息技术 系统间远程通信和信息交换 低压电力线通信 第2部分:数据链路层规范.
GB/T 40786.2-2021 is Part 2 of the Chinese series on low-voltage power line communication and covers the data link layer of broadband networks running over power lines below 1 kV.
It gives a general description of the network topology, protocol stack structure, addressing, QoS, central coordinator levels, byte order and management message timing.
The core of the document is the data link layer itself, with the frame formats, the DLL functions and the layer management messages, followed by security: encryption, authentication and key management and SC maintenance, plus normative annexes on priority mapping and flow classification.
It applies to the design, manufacture, use and maintenance of data link layer equipment such as gateways, bridges and terminal devices. It works with Part 1 on the physical layer, was issued on 11 October 2021 and has applied since 1 May 2022.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
This document is the second part of GB/T 40786 "Telecommunications and Information Exchange Between Information Technology Systems, Low-Voltage Power Line Communication".
GB/T 40786 has released the following parts.
---Part 1: Physical layer specification;
---Part 2: Data link layer specification.
Introduction
GB/T 40786 "Telecommunications and Information Exchanges Between Information Technology Systems, Low-Voltage Power Line Communication" draws on international mainstream standards Framing and data transmission methods and protocol architecture, mainly for broadband power line communication network networking, management and maintenance, security mechanisms, neighbor interference agreements The part of adjustment, resource scheduling, etc. is described. This document is intended to be composed of two parts.
---Part 1: Physical layer specification. The purpose is to standardize the physics that is applicable to low-voltage power line communication technology in complex and harsh environments. Layer protocol.
---Part 2: Data link layer specification. The purpose is to standardize broadband low-voltage power line communication network topology, equipment data link layer agreement Protocol stack structure, data link layer frame format and management message format, beacon-based competition and non-competition channel access mechanism, network Low-voltage power line communication such as network access and exit mechanisms, network management and maintenance procedures, routing and topology management protocols, and security mechanisms Technical content.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Beacon
Management messages sent by the central coordinator, agents, and sites that carry network management and maintenance information and are used for specific purposes.
3.2 Beacon period
The time interval at which the central beacon is periodically sent as determined by the central coordinator.
3.3 Central coordinator
The role of the master node in the broadband power line communication network, responsible for coordinating and managing the communication of each site, and responsible for completing network control and network maintenance Manage and manage the communication resources on the line, and be responsible for cooperating with neighboring networks on the same line resource.
