Scope

GB/T 40737-2021 is the English-translated version of 再制造激光熔覆层性能试验方法.

GB/T 40737-2021 is the Chinese method for testing the performance of laser cladding layers on remanufactured parts. For each property it fixes sample preparation, test equipment, conditions, procedure, the basic requirements for results and the test report.

The properties covered are layer thickness, metallographic analysis, tensile, bend and impact tests, fracture analysis, hardness, surface defects of the cladding layer, and abrasion and corrosion resistance.

The methods refer to Chinese standards for tensile, Charpy impact, bend, Vickers and Leeb hardness testing, microstructure and fracture inspection, magnetic particle and penetrant testing, salt spray and ring-on-block wear testing.

It applies to remanufactured mechanical products, and new products made with the same process may follow it, so remanufacturers and test laboratories use it. It was issued on 11 October 2021 and has applied since 1 May 2022.

1 Scope

This document specifies the thickness of the remanufactured laser cladding layer, metallographic analysis, tensile test, bending test, impact test, fracture analysis, Sample preparation, test equipment, test conditions, test procedures, etc. for performance test items such as hardness, cladding layer surface defects, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, etc. Basic requirements for test results and test reports.

This document is applicable to the performance test of laser cladding layer of remanufactured mechanical products; new products manufactured by the same process can also be implemented by reference.
