GB/T 40701-2021 is the English-translated version of 动车组驱动齿轮箱润滑油.

GB/T 40701-2021 is the Chinese national specification for the gear oil used in the drive gearboxes of electric multiple units (EMUs).

It covers lubricants made from synthetic base oil with functional additives and sets out product grades and marking, requirements and test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage and transportation, and delivery acceptance.

The referenced test methods include water content, kinematic viscosity, viscosity index, mechanical impurities, pour point, flash point, copper strip corrosion, foaming, low-temperature Brookfield viscosity, four-ball load-carrying capacity, FZG load-carrying capacity, shear stability in a tapered roller bearing rig and FE8 rolling bearing wear, along with the TB/T 3134 standard for EMU drive gearboxes.

1 Scope

This document specifies the lubricant for EMU drive gearboxes prepared by adding synthetic oil as the base oil and adding various types of functional additives.

Product grades and markings, requirements and test methods, inspection rules, markings, packaging, storage and transportation, and delivery acceptance of lubricating oil.

This document applies to lubricating oil used in the drive gearbox of the EMU.
