Scope
GB/T 40511-2021 is the English-translated version of 农林生物质原料收储运通用技术规范.
GB/T 40511-2021 gives the general technical requirements for collecting, storing and transporting agricultural and forestry biomass raw materials: agricultural residues such as stems, stalks, leaves and shells, and forestry residues from logging, tending and processing, that can be used for energy.
It applies to the organisations that collect, store and transport these raw materials for biomass energy use. A general clause requires them to set up operating procedures, personnel training, safety management and pollution prevention and control measures, with safety and health handled according to GB/T 12801 and GBZ 1.
Separate clauses then deal with the technical requirements for collection, for storage and for transportation. It was issued on 20 August 2021 and has applied since 1 March 2022.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
1 Scope
This document specifies the general technical requirements for the collection, storage and transportation of agricultural and forestry biomass raw materials (hereinafter referred to as "raw materials").
This document is applicable to units that collect, store and transport raw materials used in the utilization of biomass energy.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 30366 apply to this document.
3.1 Agricultural residues

3.2 Forestry residues
Non-target objects produced during forestry production and processing.

3.3 Raw material of agricultural and forestry biomass

4 General
4.1 Units engaged in business activities such as the collection, storage, and transportation of raw materials shall establish corresponding operating procedures, personnel training, safety management and pollution Regulations and systems such as prevention and control measures. Involving safety and health, it shall be implemented in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 12801 and GBZ 1.
